McWhirter
The body photographed, the garment given their first name.
Lorcan McWhirter is a Franco-Irish designer and photographer. Trained at the Atelier Chardon Savard and the Cours Florent, he worked at Azzaro, Dior, Smalto, Fogal and Cala before joining the incubator of the Institut Français de la Mode.
His brand, MCWHIRTER, is unisex streetwear where every piece begins with an encounter: the person photographed talks about their five senses and their relationship to the body, then chooses what to show. The photo, reworked, becomes the piece itself, which takes their first name, accompanied by a sentence drawn from the interview.
Everything is made to order, in recycled cotton, in limited series. Some pieces are numbered and signed by the artist.
